Community Work

Sankofa works in the refugee and the wider communities to develop opportunities to help refugees feel welcome and understood, enhance their understanding of their hosts culture, and give the local community opportunities to make contact with their refugee neighbours.

Sankofa community work is based on a flexible approach which includes planned events and allows us the freedom to integrate ad-hoc referrals, and networking opportunities into our schedules.

• Integration projects such as Film Nights and Community Centre events.
• Needs Assessments.
• Communicating experiences of communities.

This work is carried out for the benefit of all: British communities, new arrivals, and those with leave to stay.
